Sheet music is a necessity in learning to play the piano. Without easy piano sheet music to teach you the basics of reading, learning to play would be much more difficult. There are a bunch of places on the web to get sheet music, but most of the “free” sites are going to let you look at the first page or print out a teaser and that’s it.

It is much simpler to just invest in the sheet music (it really is an investment in your piano playing) so that you can download it, print it, save it, whatever you want to do with it without being restricted by “free” sheet music sites.

The sites I’m recommending here are ones I’ve actually used. They have large selections of classical as well as pop titles and some even let you watch a walk-through of the notes on the sheet music to follow along with.

Virtual Sheet Music

Easy Piano Sheet Music - Virtual Sheet Music

Virtual Sheet Music has a slightly smaller inventory than some of the mega-sites, but they make up for it with some great features. They supply you not only with a printable, downloadable, completely unrestricted PDF of the sheet music, but also an MP3, MIDI file, and Scorch file so you can follow along with the notes on screen. Sometimes they include even more than that!

They have great customer service and are really a company I would recommend doing business with. They also have a membership option which gives you unlimited downloads. Quite the steal, if you ask me!

Music Scores

Music Scores has been around for over 25 years and has built up a library of over 5,000 downloadable sheet music files covering 190+ composers. They cover piano, flute, clarinet, violin, and various ensembles, with pieces organized by difficulty level so it’s easy to find stuff at your skill level.

What I like about Music Scores is the quality. These aren’t scans or cheap copies of old handwritten scores. Everything has been professionally typeset, and the PDFs are high-resolution so they look great when you print them out at any size. Each piece also comes with MIDI and MP3 files so you can hear what it’s supposed to sound like.

Membership starts at $15 for 3 months, or $39.95 for a full year of unlimited downloads. Teachers and schools have their own plans too. It’s a good deal if you go through a lot of sheet music, especially classical.

They deliver hard copies of the sheet music with fast shipping all over the US and the world. They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, which is nice to see from an internet retailer.

If you want physical sheet music that you can put on your piano stand (and I get it, there’s something nice about having the real thing in front of you), Sheet Music Plus is the way to go. Their selection is massive…over 387,000 titles.
